In San Diego? Lordy! My mother had bladder surgery from a Dr. Vapnak in San Diego that he totally performed incorrectly. We had the worst experiences with him. She was suffering in so much pain because he botched it and said he was all in her head. Literally yelled at us in the exam room and called us liars when we had said we called his answering service after hours like crazy to get someone to try and help her after she was released from the hospital. He's very egotistical and I got the impression he really has no concept on working with women in this field. I wish you luck if this is the same man. I hope your experiences will be good ones.
