My daughter is 10 and she weighs 140 and is in a size 16 jeans (I buy her

the petite because of her height, 5'0 " ). She carries her weight really well

although she definetly looks overweight, she doesnt' look like she's 140.

The pediatrician told me according to the " charts " she needs to loose 60

lbs. Yeah, right! I, ashamedly, do mention her weight and her choices.

It's like my mother all over! yikes!! I just tell her that that is not a

healthy choice. She comes home and says that she is teased at school by

certain kids and it does break your heart. But when she wants to put two

big spoon fuls of peanut butter in her vanilla ice cream (a trick her skinny

dad told her!!!) then I mention that the kids make fun of her and that it's

not a healthy choice. Who knows. She said that she can always have surgery!

what a thing to look forward to.

Wow! Her name is Jenna? That's too cool! Well, I try not to deem my

daughter's eating habits as bad, but she loves junk food and I try to offer

better things than the junk she wants. I just don't know what to do and she

doesn't like to go outside for a long time. I need to start enrolling her

in some classes like Karate or dance. It's just so darn time consuming for

us and now I'm pregnant with #2 and I'm nauseated all the time. I try to

walk around the block with her (1 mile) sometimes, but I am so tired lately.

I pray that they perfect this surgery even more so that she can have it

done when she's a teenager. I'll take out a loan for her or do whatever it

takes. My poor baby.

I am so glad that there are people out there that understand what I'm going

through with my daughter. One day she'll have surgery and she'll be okay.

Hopefully her children won't have the same problem.
