Sorry but there is no legal ready made coconut milk that I'm aware of. It's easy to make your own. Remember coconut is a dried fruit so it's an advanced food because the sugars and fiber are concentrated. Katy

Carol, well it sounds like a delightful idea, it's ashame your body can't handle it. You really do get reactions to food in a big way. Happy New Year. Katy

FWIW, Kendall Conrad recommends Trader Joe's

Light Coconut Milk. In any case, the label

has no additives. Maybe someone interested

in using coconut milk would be interested

in checking it out further.

That's nice but I go by Elaine. Kendall has said she checked these

things she uses out with Elaine and I believe her but it was never

put in writing that I saw and I do not use convenience food b/c of

past experiences. Exception, after 8 years on SCD, I recently had a

Cashew Larabar and the planets remained in their orbits. Since it has

over 200 calories for me that will not be a habit to cultivate.

I have been using a Goya brand coconut milk that's found in the Mexican

food section of my grocery store. The ingredients are coconut milk,

water and potassium metabisulfite (preservative.) My son seems to

tolerate it well. I couldn't find potassium metabisulfite on any legal

or illegal list, so I've been assuming it's OK. Has anyone tried that

one?

And since, as you just pointed out,

you are cross reactive with coconut,

it wouldn't be a good idea for you to try it.

But there might be some people on the list

who are not cross reactive who are interested

in checking further.

I was just mentioning my own problem and specified my allergy which

affects a tiny segment of the population. I didn't know it was on the

caution list as I have not used it before. The most listed trigger

foods I have did not show coconut. After I got sick I looked up

several references.

Coconut is SCD legal, high in fiber considered advanced and people

can try whatever they would like at their own risk. I have bad luck

with canned foods which may be related to the lining.

Re The ARI study, I'd love results for over 2000 on SCD. There is

such a gap in the size of the SCD and GFCF test groups.
