Guest guest
Do you think he is trying to make some mutant form of " etiology " , maybe " etiologically " ? I know this is not a word, but I'm just throwing this out there. Will monitor for other answers. Ideologically proved hearing loss Help, I am totally lost as to what this doctor is trying to see. Doing one of those wonderful PE tube placements. The doctor very clearly dictates that the patient has " chronic serous otitis media with ideologically proved conductive hearing loss on the left. " Anyone have any idea as to what he means by ideologically proved. If not, he gets a blank. Not wasting too much time on this resident who really can't dictate well at all. Guest guest
I did consider that, but don't really believe that fits either. We do have one PA who loves to say chest pain, unknown ideology. I always just laugh and wonder what kind of ideology chest pain can have anyway. Guest guest
Margaret, If he is saying unknown etiology, it is spelled this way, not ideology even if he is pronouncing it that way. Do you change it to etiology? Susie --- Margaret Grant wrote: > I did consider that, but don't really believe that > fits either. We do have one PA who loves to say > chest pain, unknown ideology. Guest guest
Well I am not sure about that one. I know etiology is for history and causes. Ideology, hmm, maybe he is saying that it is proved by a set of beliefs, which is strange. lol Susie --- Margaret Grant wrote: > Help, I am totally lost as to what this doctor is > trying to see. Guest guest
Susie, Yes I always change it to etiology no matter how he pronounces it, I just always get a chuckle out of it though. I can just see the chest pain sitting there thinking, " what kind of ideology do I have? " I just find laughing at some of the funny things the doctors say a lot better than yelling at them for being so stupid. Got to have fun with this job. Guest guest
Google seems to like etiologically. Maybe he is meaning that the hearing loss is proved by history and causes?? --- Susie Reeves wrote: > Well I am not sure about that one. I know etiology > is > for history and causes. Guest guest
I don't know, I am about ready to kill one of my ortho docs. Geez, I think he thinks if he speed talks he gets a cheaper rate. Guest guest
What about the hearing test: otologically proved? Guest guest
Aliceanne, Thanks, That gets me going in the right direction. I'll bet it was either otologically or audiologically. That one went in last night but if I ever hear it again, I will know which way to go. Don't know why I didn't think of that last night.
