Debbi, Great job of explaining bone age delay, I don't think I could have

given a more clear, better description!! I know it sounds scary,but it really

is good news for our kids!! Ian has not had a bone age done for a very long

time,but his was very delayed the last time we had it done, probably by at least

three years less than his " chrnological age " . The x-rays are done of the hand

because the x-ray shows the fusing of the wrist and something to do with the

ephyisys (sp) sorry, don't have my med term dictionary at the desk and they

measure the distance and come up with the actual bone age of the child. The

younger the bone age, the better off for GH treatment the child will be because

this gives them the extra time for the GH to work before puberty sets in and

takes away the extra time for growth.. I know, sounds crazy & confusing, but
