Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Well, I need some advice. As you know, my mom and I are seeing docs for possible Chiari. She has been ill for over 20 years. Last night she passed out and had a siezure (the first time this has happened). We went to the ER where the had no clue. The neurologist told her that no Chiari showed on her regular MRI and that her CINE (she had this the day before) had not been read yet. They sent her home with the dx of " fainting spells " . She is getting sicker by the day and her memory is getting worse and worse. We do not know what to do. We have decided to send both my and her MRIs to a doc that speacializes in Chiari. We live in MI and do not know which doc would be best. I have heard that Frim is good, but I dont know if she can wait as long as it would take to see him. I have also heard good things about Weingart, Oro and Rosner. If anyone has any advice, PLEASE email me at JAMAPAM@... (this is my moms address) I am truly getting frightened for my mom!!! On a lighter note, when I called my neuro to make an appt for mom today when she got home from the ER the receptionist had a hilarious request. She wanted me to ask my " cyber friends " (yes, that IS what she called you) if anyone knows the billing number for a CINE MRI. She claims this number is universal and maybe someone out there would know it. I laughed. Like that billing number is my main concern out there. Anyway, she does seem to respect your collective knowledge about Chiari! Sorry so long...... SMiles, Marcy
