Social Security: VE of MD at your hearing?

Hi All,

Merry New Year.

I,ve received a number of replies from generous people who have

gone through this incredible process to prove to SS that one cannot

work reliably 8 hours a day and 5 days a week. I get to " tell it to

the judge " in mid-Feb. Hopefully, my " constellation of problems " [to

use the neurosurgeon's words] will make him see it properly and voice

in my favor.

What I am wondering is whether anyone out there who has not been

conversing with me via e-mail already, has had a SS hearing. If so, at

your hearing did they have a Vocational Expert [VE] and/or an MD

there? If they did, do you recall if you were notified beforehand of

their attendence?

My lawyer and I haven't received our formal letter yet. He says we

should be told in the letter who will specifically be there, if anyone

at all. I believe having none listed means the people who finally put

2 and 2 together already told the judge that they agree with my

doctors regarding limitations adding up to an opinion of disabled for

SS purposes.

Thanks in advance,

Steve C

Hi on the subject of SSI and working a 40 hr week I have a question some

friends of mine think it would be a good idea for me to look into this for

my son? I am a single mother of 4 and am having a dickens of a time with

my work i.e having to stay at home to care for my son 7 ACM diagnosed

12/16/00 with his migraines and just hurting all over not filling good

days not to mention all the miriad of doc appt that already occur on a

mthly bases due to his linear scleroderma I am scared stiff that I will go

in and be told he needs all these surgeries and be in a situation where we

lose everything because the FMLA that I qualify for next mth runs out and

I lose the job due to absenteeism and will be trying to support us all on

400.00 a mth any suggestions out there???

I know this might seem premature but this is what has been keeping me up

nights besides of course worrying about my son's overall health

Thanks
