Guest guest
Hi there Deb.... Yes, I was having panic attacks also, because I didnt know what was wrong with me. The best thing I did was learn how to breathe porperly....I would enhale through my nose, fill my lungs as full as possible, and then hold it for 5 seconds....and then push it out through my mouth, till my lungs were empty. I would repeat this at least 5 times, or more until I calmed down. I also learned to meditate...it does work. I know how painful panic attacks can be...they do make you feel sick and such. I thought I was having a heart attack with mine, and my blood pressure would skyrocket to 193/110. So I would end up in the ER for about 6 hours or so, till things calmed down. I hope you find something that works for you hun. -- Panic Attacks Hey guys, turns out its not a virus but a panic attack. I have been to the hospital three times already, anyone have experiences on this? Please share because I am completely scared! Deb R 1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. 3. To unsubscribe the e-mail is: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group-unsubscribe 4. Also, it is not uncommon for more than one member to be feeling bad at the same time when it comes to flares and b/c of that potentially take something another member says the wrong way. And that includes the things that one member may find funny (even if it's laughing at fibro itself) even though we who deal with illness whether one such as fibro or multiple illnesses try to keep a sense of humor. 5. Pls let's be gentle with each other, and if you are having a bad day pls let us know so that we can do our best to offer our support. Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
Hi Deb R I use to have terrible panic attacks. I had to go on meds for a while for them. Sorry. I can't remember the name at the moment but I use to put it under my tongue when I felt one coming on. Those episodes are no joke. I really thought I was having a heart attack a couple of times, I haven't had a real bad one for awhile but once and a while I get a milder one. Guest guest
, Are you currently on anything for anxiety, and is it normal for these attacks to keep occurring one after the other, Thanks, Deb R --- wendy lefebvre wrote: > Hi Deb R > > I use to have terrible panic attacks. > I had to go on meds for a while for them. > Sorry. Guest guest
take a class on meditation to learn the relaxing, deep breathing techniques. it really works. it's a much different type of breathing than what we normally do, it's not like simply taking in a lot of air in your lungs. I learned in a yoga class and refined it while doing biofeedback. Mira

Guest guest
Yes Amy I have hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia. The thyroid has never given me any problem and the medication - unithyroid has been taking care of it. Actually I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in connection with a diagnosis of celiac disease, the fibromyalgia diagnosis came 2 years later. So far the only problem I have, is having to wait for an hour after I take the medication before I can have breakfast. I have always wanted my breakfast as soon as I got up.
