Guest guest
Beans digest slower than most other foods and therefore the peak may be longer than two hours. Test again at three hours to make sure. Some diabetics can eat small amounts of some kinds of beans without too much of a problem...YMMV. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones! Guest guest
Now I've done it. had lunch out with friends and ate the darn refried beans in the bottom of the tostada - did not eat ANY of the tostada shell. Whew! I figured the rbs at 1/2 cup and my carbs are up to 51 (minus some fiber). I've been staying at right around 30 for the last two weeks. So, I'm waiting out the two hours to test and find out what I've done to myself. I know, I know, I could have told them to hold the beans, and next time I'm sure I will, but they did taste good. Figure I just dodged a bullet - also hit the treadmill again this afternoon. Thanks, Vicki Carol
