Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I went to see my nsg today and he says everything looks good. My incision is healing and very symmetrical. Ever since I started lifting Owen and back in the full swing of life again I have been getting headaches ALL the time but they are not like before surgery. Owen got his first tooth today (YEAH, he's 10 mo old.) So between teething and his double ear infection, tonsillitis and croup he hasn't been sleeping so neither have I. I think sleep deprivation is contributing largely to the headaches. Then to make matters worse there is a little depression there and insomnia. It will pass! :0) My life is back to the full time chaos it was before. Life goes on whether you feel good or not. The nsg said my herniation was over 1cm and I had significant crowding to the point that my tonsils were embedded and he had to cauterize them to get them back up. So he was very happy that I did not opt to wait on the surgery. He feels my symptoms will be drastically improved from the surgery because he feels the crowding was largely responsible for alot of my headaches, pain, dizziness, nausea etc..... I feel great and am soooo glad that I had the surgery. In an ideal world I would have liked more time to really recover. My husband is back to work and working late to make up for the 4 weeks he took off. So life has been busy and I get tired and my neck hurts by the end of the day. The nsg told me because he cut through so many muscles the soreness and pains I feel will take months to go away. It isn't intolerable but there. My neck still gets tired. So I just try to take it easy any opportunity that I get. My cousin that fell down the basement stairs was taken off life support on Sunday and died immediately. I was unable to travel to Buffalo for her funeral but my sister went and gave my hugs of support and sympathy to our family for me. Her son is aware that his Mom has died and so far he is doing ok. His uncle is a guidance counselor and has really helped him by explaining things and offering opportunities for him to share how he feels about all of this. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers for and her family. I trully appreciate it. Hope everyone is doing well and thanks everyone for your support and friendship during my search for answers. Love to you all, from RI ACM 1, 1+cm, decompression w/partial c1 laminectomy, dural patch 9/12/01, reversal of lordosis, slight scoliosis
