Guest guest
IE is about eating whenever you feel true hunger in your stomach which means you eat as many times as you feel hungry. First you have to dtermine your particular hunger signals and then once you find them stop when your body says you are full Eva Hi all. I'm new here so I apologize if this has already been answered. I couldn't quite find anything in the archives.I'm wondering - if anyone ever only feels like eating one meal a day? I have been doing Fast Five for a while now and I only eat between 3 and 5 hours each day. At first it was hard - around day 3 - but then my stomach must have shrunk and it wasn't so bad.I'm wanting to learn about IE to help me with my FF because I have found that I would eat more in my 'window' than I needed out of fear. Fear of not having more food the next time or fear that the amount of food I was able to eat wouldn't get me through.thanks for your input.karen------------------------------------
Guest guest
, Intuitive Eating is a 'stand alone' program, not a 'support program' for dieting! I haven't heard of anyone who was comfortable eating only ONE 'meal' (?!?) a day - on a regular basis that is. I do remember reading how people have not been hungry, and for a day too, at times - mainly when they have eaten heavily before. (think Thanksgiving) Its not uncommon to want to know the 'rules' to follow as such a pattern makes it easier to 'measure' good vs. bad which directs a narrow and single oriented way of living. The Intuitive Eating journey is not such a path, its one that YOU go on as you discover what YOUR body needs and is capable of letting you know if you will take the time and show it the interest of listening to your own inborn signals. If you haven't read about non-dieting, there is a list of books in the Files section of this group or you can go to www.intuitiveeating.com and get a good overall view of this process. I really recommend Overcoming Overeating as a quick and easy to read start. Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > Hi all. I'm new here so I apologize if this has already been > answered. Guest guest
First, I want to thank you all for your postings and shared words of encouragement. I also appreciate and congratulate those sharing their successes! I am so happy I joined this group and all of this sharing of thoughts, feelings, and experiences is exactly what I needed as I am making this change in my self and life. In regards to the topic of the number of meals....would you all be willing to share some of the " hunger signals " you utilize to determine your hunger? I know that sounds basic. I have looked at " hunger rating scales " , and that helps for an overall picture, but, honestly, I am struggling to know when I am hungry (without it getting to the point of starvation and binging). I am worrying if I am eating when I am not hungry " enough " or that I am " fooling " myself into thinking I am " hungry " when really it is still emotional eating. I want some concrete, physical descriptions. (I also wanted to sort back through my book for the information, but unfortunately I loaned it to a friend who also was going to try IE.) If you all might be willing to share the signals you utilize, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you again for everything. > > IE is about eating whenever you feel true hunger in your stomach which > means you eat as many times as you feel hungry.
