<<Does the 8 hours have to be at

night? Or can it be 8 hours fasting during the day?>>

Fawnee,

From what I understand, after fasting for 8 hours (regardless of time of

day), your readings should be 126 or lower, preferably closer to 110 or

lower. The only reason that I know of that most people test in the morning

is that most people sleep during the night - hence, their fasting time.

However, in my case, I usually sleep from 3:00am to 12 Noon. So, my fasting

glucose is taken at noon or soon thereafter. It is, of course, taken after

I have been sleeping. Although, I don't see that sleeping or not sleeping

for 8 hours would make any difference. You are still fasting.

Just my thoughts on the matter,

Rhonda Y.

I have tried that... last night I had some peanuts and this morning it was

174. Before lunch it will be down to 115 or so. It's extremely

frustrating. I even tried taking one of my pills BEFORE bed... doesn't help

either.

Re: fasting questions

Try eating before your liver dump. Some protein, like cheese, or a glass of

milk.

It may slow the dump, and in some peoples cases it will stop it all

together.

Thanks. I tried this today but think I got to it to late. I was 142. I need

to check to see if it went any higher yet. fran
