Guest guest
Hi , Thank you for your advise. I guess the reason that I am having a hard time making a choice is that 2 Peds. have told me that they would not recommend putting Shelby on Periactin due to the side effects. Mainly the jitterness and iritability and possible sleeping problems. I have put some thought into this and I am going to speak with Shelby's daddy and then the Ped. and request..okay demand that they at least let us try her on it and see if her appitite does indeed increase. The worst that could happen is that it will not work for Shelby and she will then be taking off it but the BEST would be that she would actually pick up some weight. My Ped actually told me that RSS children are going to be small so therefore why would you choose to try and make your child obese. I strongly disagree with that as I do not think that any child with RSS on Periactin has become obese. LOL!! Thank you for that little shove I needed. And to comment on your question regarding night time feedings and tooth decay....that has been a VERY big problem here. The dentist says that they have to cease while the Ped says that the EXTRA calories are a must. I met both requests in the middle I think...I no longer wake Shelby up to take a bottle but if she happens to wake on her own requesting one....she is given one. That is me just doing what I feel as a parent is the best on both ends. ---Shelby's mommy ===== ~~~~~~To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but the heart!~~~~~~ Sue __________________________________________________
