Guest guest Posted November 27, 1999 Report Share Posted November 27, 1999 Well, I'll be #3 to respond to the Roll Call. I'm Margaret, due in 4 weeks, scheduling a C-section for December 27th. Don't know what it is yet just know it's adorable!! Had surgery on December 10th 1998 and have lost 120lbs. I've gained a total of 9lbs since my pregnancy. I'm 38 and this is my second child, my first will be 10 on January 8th. I got pregnant because of the surgery although we were using drug store protection. go figure. 2 years ago I stopped taking fertility pills that i had been taking for 7 years previous! They didn't do the trick but the weight loss did. And I had only lost about 70lbs when I got pregnant. I've been married for 14 years to a wonderful man who is sooo supportive of the surgery, weight loss and pregnancy. So, we're doing wonderful. That's the scoop on me! I did have a miscarriage November 14, 1998, (10 weeks). I am waiting patiently, well not so patiently for this baby to decide to grace us with his wonderful presence. I am so excited though, It's all I think of every waking moment. They are going to induce Friday if I don't have him before. It's my neice's birthday too. She will be 14. I love this onelist and all of you. At a big stand still I fear that will be it and it wont be enough to get pregnant. I was on fertility drugs several years ago and got pregnant the shot.. Only to find out it was in the tube and I also lost my left tube. A few years later on fertility drugs got pregnant again to miscarry almost a s soon as I knew it. Went off depro-pervera shots in may still haven't gotten a period. So here I am 35 years old and this is my only hope that I lost weight and see. married 12 years. We are trying to have #1. We have a sperm donor. My cycles are textbook regular. We have been trying for 3 months. Our donor is now going for a sperm count. If he does not test out ok then we will have artificial insemination. We will inseminate on Tuesday night of this week. Good luck to everyone! Guest guest Posted November 28, 1999 Report Share Posted November 28, 1999 hi my name is julie. i had surgery on aug 11th and want to have a baby more than anything in the world. i know it is still too early now but someday. thats what i keep telling my husb....someday, maybe by next christmas. we are trying to do the natural family thing but it still scares me. i have never been regular a day in my life and this month my temp went up and, luckily down, like it was supposed to. nobody understands why it gets me excited. at least now i know there is at least a possibility of a baby. we did fertility treatments for about 9 months and that blew any dream i ever had. we looked into adoption and foster care but those went south too. this is it. it has given me a new spark of hope. sorry to go on and on. i love reading all the comments and looking forward to asking lots of questions. the only one i have now is are we considered high risk pregnancy because of the low nutrition level? just stupid things like this i think about. julie Roll Call???? > > >Hi ladies, > Is it possible to do a roll call??? My surgeon seems to think that my miscarriage last month could be the reason for my plateau (hormones and all) - did you experience this with your miscarriage? Do your docs think the surgery had anything to do with your miscarriage? How long have you been trying to conceive since the miscarriage? After I lost my first baby at 20 weeks to a severe neural tube defect, it took us about 18 months and fertility treatments to get pregnant with my son. This time we got pregnant the first month trying - but I too lost the baby almost as soon as I found out. It is very disheartening, but I promise you, the end result is worth the wait! 120 lbs of weight loss is sure to be a step in the right direction, Congrats on that great loss! I am sure the depo is what probably makes you irregular now, it will work it's way out of your system and hopefully by this time next year - you will be expecting your bundle of joy. I teach PreK, something I could not possibly have done last year. (You need lots of energy to keep up with 4-year-olds!) I have been married for 7 years, and I have been unable to conceive. I have been obese all of my life. My surgery was on June 28 and as of today I have unofficially lost 100 pounds!!! I'm so excited. I have never been able to lose this much weight with any other method! I have a foster child, , that we will be adopting in about 3 months. Hopefully next year I'll also be able to have a little one of my own! This surgery was the best thing I ever did for my health. I have no regrets! The pathology done after my d and c proved it to be a chromasomal abnormality, which luckily had nothing to do with me or my health. We just started trying again this cycle. As far as plateaus go, I was 124 on 10/9, stayed there for about a month, was 118 on Monday, tonight I'm 122. Go figure. I'm not sweating it. I know that at least 5 lbs. of my " girth " is excess skin. I was majorly crampy yesterday, which was only day 12, but we boom-boomed anyway. I bought the first outfit from The Limited that I had bought since about 1986!!! It was a large, but it fit. You are verrry close to that.
