delete parts of a message?

When you hit " Reply " , a new message window usually comes up. Go into

the message body and highlight all the stuff that does not pertain to

your answer. You only need to leave enough info to remind the

sender/group what you are talking about.

Then right click and hit " delete " or your program may have a pair of

scissors on the tool bar to use.

Let me know if this doesn't make sense. I'm not sure what email

program you are using.

Or just hit your Delete key on your keyboard. That's what I do.

I worked. Another way to cut unwanted text with most email programs is to

highlight the part of the text you want to include in your response. Then click

on Reply. Just the part that you highlighted will show up in your email

form. Then if you want to add more from the post, you can can copy and paste it

into your reply.

If you reply at the website, it automatically pastes the whole email in your

response. So you do have to delete the text you don't want by highlighting

and using your delete key.

I get the digest, not the immediate list and it is much easier to read the

digest when people cut and paste. Sometimes people post an entire previous

digest back with their post. It's so easy to miss new posts when you're

scrolling

through three quarters of a digest that is old stuff that doesn't pertain to

anything. Those of us who read the digest really appreciate it when everyone

deletes the unnecessary stuff from their posts.
