Guest guest
This is the second time I have received this email when posting on this message board (3 rd coming up?). Am I alone in this happening - does anyone know why it is happening? Dave MS-like reaction to LDNListmates: I need some help from those of you more experienced with MS and LDN. I have an adult woman in my research study whose own mother has MS and she has always worried that she might get it. She had an MRI several years ago and was told she had a lesion, but never had any symptoms. After starting the LDN and getting up to 4.5mg, she began having symptoms of a severe reaction in the form of muscle spasms and numbness on the right sie of her body - she said she never had anything like that before. She went down to 3mg, it lessened but was still very painful, so then went down to 1.8mg and said, "It's still there but bearable. I am FREAKED OUT as I am worried that the LDN may have triggered something that can't be reversed." I actually encouraged her to stay on it if she could, believing it would be short-lived. I don't know whether she continued or stopped, as I just got this post from her (quite late this evening) telling me she is "seriously not doing well and is having what seems to be a full blown MS attack . . .burning, numbness and weakness in my leg and trunk, tingling up and down my spine, freezing hands and feet. I never ever experienced anything remotely like this before . . .I know that stress is the worst thing for me, but you can imagine the state I am in. I can't believe this is happening to me. If I had ever thought this was even remotely possible, I wouldn't have touched this stuff. I believed it was "harmless." but instead it's been devastating. Please tell me if there is anything you recommend - supplements or otherwise." I feel terrible, and have no idea why this is happening from reading at least 300 or more studies about naltrexone in preparation for the study and for my upcoming presentations on this and its use in autism. Repeatedly I have heard of its safety in full doses. In fact, and I told her so, I would have thought the LDN was the perfect medicine to keep her from actually getting MS! Her immune picture is of a pretty low level of functioning, and I thought she would be a good responder. Can any of you MSers give me any advice; is Lorazepam OK with this kind of reaction? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I have put out a plea for help from Dr. Gluck too. (In the past two years she has used lexapro, zyrtec, wellbutrin, lipitor, tapazole, synthroid, and albuterol inhalant; I'm not certain whether she still takes any of these and it is too late tonight for me to call her to find out). Thanks for any suggestions! Dr. JM
Guest guest
I also got this message twice or three times now. No idea what it is about. The messages seem to post anyway. For me, it happened most recently when a message was posted from the web interface for the group.
Guest guest
Yeah, I've been getting it for a while now too. I blocked it by adding it to my junk mail. I still get it but I never see it. It just moves into the Junk mail folder. On Mar 30, 2006, at 4:53 PM, Kennard wrote: > I also got this message twice or three times now. No idea what it is > about. The messages seem to post anyway.
