Guest guest
Hi Michele! Res-Q appears to be a good quality fish oil, but don't know if anyone here uses it. It's never been brought up as far as I recall. The only formula of EFA I found was a liquid version of fish oil and it was a pure Omega 3 -not an Omega 3 and 6 formula which is what this group has found to be most successful in the brand name formulas of ProEFA, Efalex and Eye Q. http://www.cherab.org/information/historyEFA.html Besides I like capsules better because 10X longer shelf life -fish oil's most common problem is rancidity (fish and oxygen don't do well together!) which is an issue for oil when outside the capsule/no refrigeration necessary for capsules/more accurate dosage with capsules. One teaspoon of Res-Q is the dosage on the bottle -that would be equal to around 5 capsules of ProEFA (minus the GLA of course) 775 mg of EPA and 500 mg of DHA http://www.n3inc.com/index2.html So a 1/2 a tsp. of ResQ would be equivalent to around 2 1/2 capsules of ProEFA (again minus the Omega 6/GLA) We typically tell parents to start at just one capsule of ProEFA -which would be a bit less than a 1/4 tsp of ResQ. Run the following by your child's doc. So, if you already own the ResQ I'd say to start with just a bit less then the 1/4 tsp. and also purchase some primrose or borage seed oil and mix that into the small amount of fish oil on the teaspoon. So perhaps about 5 drops of fish oil to one drop of the primrose or borage seed oil for that ratio. If you didn't already buy this -I'd just try an already made formula's first so it's easy. You can always do this mixing stuff later if you really wanted. ProEFA or the right formula is around this ratio per capsule: 150-200, EPA 100mg DHA, 30-50 GLA. For those who want to know how to make fish oil salad dressing from the ResQ website http://www.n3inc.com/index2.html Just imagine your families and friend's surprise (shock) when you volunteer to bring " fish oil salad dressing " when you visit their home this Holiday season! =====
Guest guest
Cyndi, Dr. Lawrence talks about EFA's in his MS protocol. Have you seen it? If not, e-mail me directly and I'll forward the whole package.
