Wrong reading

Hello.Is it possible i may have gotten a wrong reading?Last night i tested

and i got a reading of 293 and this was more than two hours aftrt my supper

although i did have a small apple as a snack.I then took a bath which took

30minutes and tested again and got a reading of 124.Oh and on my first test

i had to try several times before i could coax enough blood on the test

strip to make the meter begin testing.I havent had a huge reading like that

since i was diagnosed back in Aug.I mean 293 down to 124 that is a huge

difference.The highest reading i've had in the last couple months was 162

and that was on Thanksgiving after i had eaten more than i should and once a

couple weeks ago when my uncle brought me a sub with thick bread after me

telling him i cant eat the bread time and again.Well i ate over half and

made him stay thirty minutes until i tested and showed him my reading of

162.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I think of following possibilities

1) Your Blood Sugar really shot up and you will have to find out reason for that

- It will not be due to food as you ate only apple. Did you have some stress ?

Were you too anxious ?

2) My experience is sometimes meters do show unexpected high reading. The best

thing in such situation would be wait for some more time ( say 1/2 hour to one

hour ) and take the reading again. If could be considerably lower that the first

one.

3) If you have to squeeze the blood , my experience is that you do get high

reading.

So do not get worried by just one 'upsurge in the reading. If it is consistently

higher, then obviously you have to consult Doc
