Guest guest
Just a note on the pringles - Mike is at a lower ratio so he can get more but we use the mayo for a dip for them - works great and if I crush up the cal:mag tablet with a pill crusher, it turns into really fine powder and I can mix it into the mayo and he thinks he is getting special dip. just a suggestion. Guest guest
What about sour cream? I know it contains a bit of carb and protien tho so i am not sure how it would work into your diet. Works well into ours but we cant use it often. Havent tried it for Mike yet tho but he did love it pre-diet, would eat it right off the spoon. Guest guest
Halina, Having just started the diet 1 week ago today with my daughter I can honestly tell you that I drove myself crazy worrying about EVERYTHING before we started. However, I already feel pretty comfortable measuring and substituting and figuring things out for her meals. If I find something Karley likes I switch around some of her favoite meals and work it in. She stopped liking to drink the cream so I had to switch to ice cream. She was not wanting the ice cream so I added water to the cream to make milk. You'll figure things out. And if she doesn't eat everything at every meal it will be ok. Don't expect perfection right away. Know that there will be things she'll refuse and times when the ratio will be off but it'll be ok. You'll do fine. I found the wonder of pringles!! We are at a 3:1 ratio and holding there and I can work in as many as 5 pringles sometimes which makes Karley very happy!! May not be the healthiest food right now but it's keeping her happyso I add them in...pringles weigh 2 grams each by the way...hahahaha...She also ate spinach pie for lunch and loved it so it all works out somehow. Good Luck.
Guest guest
Thanks ! I will definitely check into the thinner creams but I do like that idea of mixing the milk and cream together. Thanks for the idea! You know? I was starting to get scared because it's coming up so quickly for Kaitlynn to start the diet but when I come here to this group I'm not so afraid anymore. I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you for the support I've recieved so far, I KNOW I'll be able to do it with everyone's help in this group ) Halina Only 5% of the population have the genetics to look like a model. Maybe that's why the rest of us are so disgruntled Re: Re: DeEtte - diet start Date: Mon, Aug 12, 2002, 12:20 AM Has Karley always liked the cream ? I had Kaitlynn try some (we start the diet in a week!) and she HATED it!! I think it was 35%fat. I guess I can always ask the dietician if I can find one closer to the consistency of milk?? Or can it be watered down a bit? I'm hoping she will get used to it but she's quite the stubborn little girl!! Halina
Guest guest
Jenn, Karley will not eat mayo. She says " it's disgusting " ...to each her own I guess. She did eat spinach pie though for lunch though, with 4 pringles! My older son's comment was " I never thought I'd be related to someone that would eat that stuff (spinach) " ... Maybe she'll acquire a taste for mayo. Thanks for the suggestion.
Guest guest
We can use sour cream on the diet Mike is on - we are using exchanges and working with percentages, not ratios, but I dont see why (someone please correct me if i am wrong) why it cant be used on the diet. Keep in mind tho that there is carbs and protien in it and that needs to be calculated in. Jenn Halina wrote: > So you can use sour cream on the diet? Guest guest
Thanks for the words of encouragement ! I think it's more worrying about the unknown. I'm sure with the dietician showing me what to do I should be ok. Thanks for telling me about the Pringles! I'll have to check it out because Kaitlynn DEFINTELY loves those!! LOL!
