PA dictated " Vaginal mucosa is pink, rugated, and moist. " I find the word ruga

in my Dorlands, but rugated is not even listed as a form of that word. Is there

someone else who can verify this word. Thanks

Hi,

I have looked in every book that I have on the subject and I found rugation,

rugae of vagina, rugose, rugous, and rugosity which all mean wrinkles or folds,

but no rugated. Sorry that I could not be more

helpful.

I'm not sure if this will help out or not, but I found the word rugate in

the Obstetrics and Gynecology section of the new edition of Sloane's Medical

Word Book.
