Guest guest
Suzy, Yes, I went to see last Tuesday and she did confirm that it was yeast during the appointment. She told me to take 200 mg. of nizoral 1x per day for 7-10 days. My regular gyn. had told me to take 200 mg 2x per day, but said that is too much. Yes, I weigh about 85 pounds. However, I got sick right after that with a virus and was feeling crappy all week. Actually, I still don't feel like myself yet, but decided to take the nizoral tonight. So, I just started it. I didn't call 's office to see if the lab report is back. Would they know this by now (it is only a week)? I go back to see her next Thursday (which by then I should have all 7-10 days of the nizoral) and she will culture me again. I have been using topical nizoral, and that has definitely helped with my irritation. I never tried acupuncture. There is a nurse right near me who does NAET, but she uses acupressure, not acupuncture. What kind of yeast did you have when you took the nizoral? Had you tried anything else before that? Did you also take a probiotic with it? I will keep you posted. Love, Maureen
Guest guest
Suzy, I go back to see next Thursday, so maybe the lab results will be back by then. I am going to stop by my doctor's office today to pick up a script for a urinalysis to check to make sure I don't have a kidney infection. I don't think it is (it is probably just some sort of stomach flu that I can't shake), but better to be safe about it. Maybe I have some kind of yeast like you had. I really don't have an visible discharge - it is the outside skin that is very irritated. Who knows though. I will let you know. I hope that I am able to keep treating it with the nizoral (as long as my stomach can cooperate!) and get rid of it. I was thinking of seeing the NAET practitioner just to try it out. HOwever, everyone I have heard who has used NAET uses it with acupuncture, and she said she just does the acupressure. So, that confused me a little. She described it to me as kinesiology to test what you are having an allergic reaction to, and then desensitizing through acupressure and avoidance for 24-48 hours I think. Does this sound what your NAET practitioner does? Thanks, Maureen
Guest guest
Candi, I went to a chiropractor in the summer for kinesiology. Believe it or not, and don't think I am a nut, he was recommended by a psychic who I see once a year (and is awesome - her readings are unbelievable). He used applied kinesiology to test me for food allergies, and a couple of other " stomach/fatigue " related things. I didn't even get into the vestibulitis with him. He diagnosed me with leaky gut syndrome, open illocecal valve, and not digesting protein correcting, thus causing my fatigue. I was supposed to take three different supplements, etc. I never pursued it further though. It was very interesting though. I was amazed how I would lose all strength in my arm at different times, and other times had complete strength. I was completely skeptical about the whole thing, and never pursued his plan - just too many things going on then anyway, but it was interesting. My stomach is still bothering me. No more vomiting, just diarhea and cramps (stomach and back) all of the time. I was able to start the nizoral though, so I should be able to get at least the 7 days in before I see next week, so she can re-test me for yeast. I did go to the lab last night to make sure it is not a kidney infection, so hopefully will know something soon. I don't think it is that, but it is better to be safe than sorry. MOre than likely, this is another one of my stomach issues! I have been on a gluten free diet for three months now, and instead of getting better, I have a horrible yeast infection and more stomach issues! It is just not fair! I should be getting better! Guest guest
Niki, The NAET practitioner near me doesn't use acupuncture at all though, just acupressure. Have you always heard of it with acupuncture? Maureen > I know the question wasn't for me but that's exactly what I have. > Acupressure, then acupuncture then avoid the treated items for 25 hours. > Niki
