Hi Aazari,

I have never used the alcohol wipes, dries the skin too much. Washing hands

with soap and warm water before testing is all I do.

I just ask the nurse at the doctors for alcohol wipes everytime i go and I leave

with a huge handful. I test 6 times a day if I dont miss one and I use the same

finger each time I test and the same lancet.

Just so I understand this correctly, are you saying that you test 6x a

day and you use the same finger for all 6 times? We have definitely

learned that you do not test on the central fleshy pad of the finger but

toward the side of the finger toward the nail. Much less sensitive

there. I can remember someone pricking my finger once for a cholesterol

test given through a store and he stuck the center pad. Finger hurt for

3 days! I won't allow anyone to do that anymore.

I test on the sides and I use the same finger mostly because the others hurt

when I use them because I have to change the depth to get blood out of the other

fingers. When I use one of my other fingers I have to stick myself 2 times and

it always hurts.
