Guest guest
I just joined this group a few days ago and wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I started out with the intent of educating myself so that I'd know what my very best friend is going through. He was recently diagnosed as T2. I've learned quite a bit. Since then, I've found my own glucose levels are running a bit high - - over 100 for morning fasting levels, rising to up to 239 two hours after meals. I've got a return doctor's appointment coming up on the 18th. Anyway, even before he was diagnosed, my friend had taken to keeping a cooler in his van. At the time, it was filled with Coke and Gatorade. Now, it's C2 and still Gatorade. He also keeps munchies, such as nuts, graham crackers, and low carb things in the van too. These are for times when he's forgotten to eat and his blood sugar is going low. And even as hard as it is for me to remember to eat, I make it a point to remind him to do so. For Bruce -- where are you in West Virginia?? We're in Wheeling. For the rest of you, that's in the Northern Panhandle, not too far from Pittsburgh.
