Guest guest
Yes, I am interested in the book. I was married to a man who had BPD (he passed away last year from cancer), and am the mother of a 27 year old daughter with BPD, and Atypical Bipolar Disorder. She has a baby under 2 and I am so afraid for her. Thank you so much for all your work. I have just finished your book, and was thrilled to learn so much more about BPD. Guest guest
Hi Pat, My daughter is also 27 and expecting her first child. She has the same disorders as your daughter. Please email me privately when you get the chance. Thank you, Tami Re: Greetings from the 17th new member Yes, I am interested in the book. Guest guest
I can not beleive there is another quite like my daughter. I could write a book, just on her alone. She was living with me when the baby was born. Three weeks ago she moved in with her boyfriend and my grandaughter. I still babysit for her approx. 40 hrs. a week. If I don't, her threats are unbelievable. I can't go anywhere for more than 1 day. I would love to hear from you. Pat
Guest guest
Hi Pat, What kind of threats? Do you belong to any kind of support group? I know how important it is to keep our own sanity in tact! Staci is a sweet and loving person who is very gifted in the arts as well. She becomes very remorseful and in even more pain when she acts out, which she just did recently towards my mom. Prior to this she has no known history of violence towards anyone but herself and that has been under control for almost 2 years. Like any other humans, our BP's can also be pushed over the edge by another's actions. Obviously, the baby is in a safe enviroment since Grandma has her at least 40 hrs a week. I am curious..........does your daughter work? If not, why is she requiring 40 hours per week etc? If you have any specific questions, Pat, I will try to answer to the best of my abilities......nothing to hide here!!! Take Care of yourself, ok? Guest guest
Tami, My daughter has had a steady job for almost 8 years. She has been extremely violent in the past, not recently. Her verbal abuse however is uncontrolable. She acted out recently to my 83 year old mother who has written her off (my mom doesn't understand BPD). Although my daughter will be 28 soon, emoionally I would say she is more like a 12 year old.Since she moved out (5 miles away from me) things have been MUCH better for me, and I think for her as well. Guest guest
The threats include: " You will never see your grand daughter again " . " I will go on welfare, and put her in child care " . " If you don't watch her, I will take her out with me " . This could be at 8 -11 pm. No, I am not in any support group right now, I wouldn't know how to go about finding one. Remember, I was married to her dad who also had BPD, so I learned to walk the obstacle course for 29 years.
