Guest guest
Joe Joe- First of all, congratulations, it does sound like your resection was a success! That said, I have to say that I have not been in your shoes, but personally, I would push for the follow up HSG. I would want as much reassurance as possible before I began ttc again. Whatever your decision, I wish you the best! D UD
Guest guest
Hey all, YOU guys are all so awesome! Thanks for all of your feedback. It really helped! I am definitely going to ask her to do another HSG or maybe the SHG. Sara, I think we've talked before and I think we talked about Valle....I had a doc from the same practice (Dr. Confino) and he DID use the scissors and I am sure they use the same procedure (Northwestern/Prentice). My doc (a woman) assisted him with the procedure. So now I am freaking out a little....did you have a balloon? My doc said that the balloon is supposed to help with making sure it doesn't " come back " . I am all nervous now. How soon can I get an HSG? It will be two weeks Monday since my procedure...........thanks again all of you!!!! Re: HELP.......Should I? > HELP, I need opinions.............. > > Joe Joe > 34, SU resected, not yet cleared for ttc (1 cycle!!) > Hi Joe Joe! Hopefully everything in there is as it should be. The reason we recommend a f/u apt to visualize the interior of your uterus is because the majority of problems (healing back together, adhesions) happen during the healing process. So how your uterus looks on the operating table is not always how it will look a few weeks later. Many folks have had no problems, but enough HAVE that it makes me concerned. I know its hard second guessing your doc (I'm nervous about it too) but my plan is to say, " I know I'm neurotic, but this is really, really important to me. My insurance covers it, can you please humor me? " I'm so glad to hear your surgery went well! Lap/hyst sched. 4/15/

Yes, my 1st dr (the one that used the scissors) was Dr. Valle, so there is a good chance that your dr is using the same practice. The microscissors are good, don't get me wrong, I just think that for my resection, it was not cut up far enough and maybe (my guess here) since it was so wide at the top, cutting it out was a better option to get rid of it for me than just cutting up the length of it. Try not to freak out...I know, WAY easier said than done. But please let them know that this follow-up is VERY important to you. You can even say that you have a friend that went to the same group practice and found out that her septum was not gone at her HSG. They usually schedule the HSG about a month out from surgery. Good luck talking to your dr. Let us know how it goes. Sending you successful one-time resection-only vibes! Sara SU resected x2
Guest guest
Sorry, I forgot to add that I did not have a balloon either time. But Dr. Valle did prescribe hormones to prevent adhesions. Sara
