Guest guest
Hello all. Im looking for a little encouragement today. I removed casein mar 31. I removed gluten April 12. I believe that I have had NO slip ups.... Also during this time. I started Digestive Enzymes, SNT, TMG (since discontinued). Recently I started minerals, MSM, and also VIT A. All but the SNT have been under the care of a nutrionist. I have introduced all these new things one at a time and kept them for 5-7 days before starting something new. Its very hard to tell if anything or something is helping or not. Since my dear boy has never been one to display bad behaviors, and I have never seen an allergy or reaction to ANY food product I can only determine improvements in a few areas. Eye contact (which has gotten better), ability to learn during his 40 hour week ABA program (which has good days and bad but he seems more in tune receptively), and his little quirky stims (hand waving, sideway glancing, wall tracking, verbal babbling, obsession with his skin) which were never bad but recently seem to be DRIVING ME CRAZY. It seems like so many of you have hit on the one thing that is making the mega improvement and I am not hitting on it. I feel like the list is running low. I started the diet, i started the enzymes, then there was the supplements, the MSM and now the vitamin A. Im still getting no words, and no intent to use words.. That is what i hold my breath for every day. I know so many of you talk about offending foods other than the gluten and casein. I just can't see it. There has NEVER been a reaction to any food or different food. He has a diet that is pretty wide as far as different foods but to be honest, I keep it simple and its usually the same from week to week. I never see a change in him that is so noticeable that i would say " what did he eat " . He eats, soy, rice, corn and there has not ever been an episode after one of these foods any different from after he would have had a glass of water. He is so consistant in his behavior and hes so sweet. However, he still has no words, and he shows little or no curiosity, he does not try to play with toys that i don't actually sit down with him to use and he does not initiate play. He didnt do these things before all of the interventions and he does not do them now. WHAT AM I MISSING....... JANINE/JACKSON MOM
