Guest guest
Hi, I saw this question posed once before, but not sure what the discussion was... We are obviously giving calories in as many high-fat, high-calorie foods as possible..lots of dairy, butter, red meats. I worry sometimes that we may be so intent on winning the battle for height that we are losing sight of the big picture; in other words, our son could be doomed to heart disease, high-blood pressure, things that cause far more medical problems to adults than does short stature. I started thinking about this again because of recent news stories saying that adult problems with heart disease can often be traced back to diets they had as very young children. Maybe with RSS kids, all this is a moot point? The other thing I've noticed is that my 2 year old already shows signs of plaque on his teeth...I know a lot of that is genetic, but could it also be due to the high amounts of pediasure, shakes, other sugary foods that he eats? Does anyone else have this problem? Could this be related to the fact that RSS kids have smaller mouths and smaller teeth, tighter gaps between the teeth? In any event, we are more diligently following a brushing regimen, and may even introduce flossing soon!!!! :-000 Katy
