Guest guest
This is sooo true!!! I think we all have felt like victims and thought that we would not be victorious! But, with time we have realized that this is " just " who we are and the hand we have been dealt. I know in my early 20s when I found out about my ACM and sryingomelia I was one scared cookie. But, I have always had the feeling that I will survive no matter what happened. People often ask my mother how I handle my surgeries so well and it makes her cry when she tells them I am a very strong person and simply know that it is the surgeries that will help me live a better life. I think that is partially true but inside I also know I am trying to be strong for my family. Inside I am still that young scared cookie. BUT, I am 4 weeks post-op from my 2nd decompression surgery and doing absolutely great. The day before I had surgery I received custody of 15 month old twin boys. Am I crazy or what. 33 and a new mom. And loving every minute of it!!!!! To close, I have never felt like a victim of my genes!! But, often feel very victorious in kickin Arnold Chiari in the hinney Oh and 1 of the boys has CP. ACM1 with sryingomelia 2 Hoffman shunts for syrinx Decompressed 92 and Sept. 19, 2001 33 and still kickin Arnold in the hinney
