Guest guest
I use an Accu-chek and like it a lot. I got it online at Hocks.com They have some good deals. meter? Guest guest
I personally use the Precision Extra by Medisense. Not exactly cheap but you can get the meter with the purchase of 100 strips (about $80). I like that the strips are individually wrapped so there is not contamination from accidentally leaving the bottle of strips open. The meter claims clinical accuracy too. Good luck in your quest. Guest guest
I'm using an Accucheck Active and it seems to work real well. The Diabetic Educator at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo gave it to me - FREE. You may want to check with your doctor or local hospital diabetic education dept to see if they can give you one and some supplies to get you started. Guest guest
Reli strips from wal-mart are individually wrapped and are about 21 for 50 dollars and the meter I think was 8.99. Guest guest
Insurance will often pay for them, but you have to get the brand favored by the company. Contact your insurer. meter? Guest guest
Ther are many ways of getting a free meter. Check with your CDE as many meter companies give the out as samples. I like the One Touch Ultra as I have been using it for several years and find it to be popular .....Capt In diabetes , james <jmsmerlin29@w...> wrote: > Hi, i was wondering since im new to diabetes, what kind of meter is the > best and easiest for testing ur blood glucose?I got an ascentia (i think it > is)meter but it don't seem to work very well....Is there a good cheap store > somewhere online or off that sells good meters?thanks > > ---------- > > > --- > Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. > Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). > Version: 6.0.525 / Virus Database: 322 - Release Date: 10/9/2003 > > >

Guest guest
I like the Ascensia Breeze. It has a disk of strips inside the meter so you don't have to handle the strips. It is compact and self contained and seems to be pretty accurate. I think there are 10 strips per disk. My medicare/medicaid paid for it and home health program pays for the disks. Guest guest
If you have Kaiser HMO and want a One Touch Ultra, shop around at different Kaiser pharmacy locations. Some have the Ultra and some do not.
