Guest guest
I ordered the A1cNow kit that Metrika puts out, a home testing kit for the A1c hemoglobin reading. " As written up in Parade Magazine " !! I pulled out the instructions and read them very carefully. Since it had been sitting in my cold mailbox all day, I waited a day to do the test, since they instructed to do it at room temperature. I felt like Dr. enstein, with blood vials and tubes and the monitor. I then reread the instructions and even did an imaginary walk-through. I did as instructed and STILL got an error reading. OR1. In the booklet, it said that OR1 meant I put too little blood in the tube. I was furious! They have a diagram that shows exactly how much blood to use on the initial stick and I swear I did it exactly as I was supposed to. Call the 800 number, the pamphlet said. I did and got disconnected. Well, needless to say, I am not impressed with this kit, as advertised in Parade. I have gone online to the company and written for a new kit or a refund, since $25 is $25 and not just spare change. I suspect that it can work, but it is too prone to error. I question whether it is ready for market yet, since I am a real instructions nut and am positive I did everything as I should have. grrr Happy New Year, everyone, on a lighter note!!!
