A DAN doctor is a doctor who focuses on treating the medical problems

of children with autism. If you google the Autism Research Institute,

you'll find a listing of (self-reported) DAN doctors. I recommend that

you join one of the medical autism and ask for

recommendations from parents in your area (abmd, gfcfkids,

csb-autism-rx, etc).

youngest with apraxia as well. Your daughter sounds like my little one

and then lost them between 13-15 months. We spent months on early

intervention speech therapy without her gaining any words, and then

she was diagnosed right when she turned 2.

I've always thought that the same triggers may produce both disorders,

and that genetic susceptibility plays a role as well. So I wouldn't be

surprised if at least for some kids with apraxia, vaccines were a

contributing factor. I think kids with apraxia can be helped greatly

by the Dan protocol. My daughter is a great success story - she has

lost her diagnoses and her neurologist thinks she is just fine.

Without the treatment of a Dan doctor, I am sure she would still have

language (and other) issues.

OK, heres the story about us being forced to vaccinate. My husband is in the

army, which does not force vaccination, although an army doctor did turn me into

DHS for neglect for failing to immunize my son. I got a lawyer right away, and

never even had to talk to DHS. However, our unit was re-assigned to Germany for

4 years,and we were told that we WOULD NOT be allowed to accompany him if the

kids were'nt immunized. No if's and's or but's about it. So, it was either

vaccinate our children, or live apart for 4 or more years. I regret it, and if

there was another way, I would've done it. By the way...... we ended up not

going to Germany....grrrrr! But on the bright side, we don't have to finnish all

of their shots.

live in? In PA, where we live, we have the right to religious

exemption and no one can deny us that for school, daycare, etc

Titers is when they draw blood and check it for immunity to certain

diseases.

Some people do this instead of filing exemption. However, often

times a child can come up not immune to something he was vaxed for

and then you are pushed to re-vax. Vaccines really do not create a

true immunity so there is room for error.

Can I just say that pediatricians do push for vaccines. They are

taught that these save lives and save babies. You have to be FIRM!

When the doc says " Little MJ is fine today but needs five shots " you

say " Glad to hear Little MJ is fine but he will not be recieving

five shots " God bless and have a good day! And hand them his vaccine

exemption papers. You do want this noted in his medical record in

case there is ever a hospital emergency and you have not arrived

yet. They will contact his ped/doc for his record. You don't want

them vaxing him for tetanus before you arrive or something.

In that case, where to doc was so condescending and did not

acknowlege what she said..I would find a new doctor. You don't need

to tell them you don't vax when you call around either. Just submit

it when you fill out his first visit papers. Remember, they can't

question you. And you pay them! So you can just as easily pay

someone else.

According to part 9 of the New York regulations, a religious exemption

On the back of our school's student's personal vaccination record

cards there is a place to mark your exemptions. No additional form

needed (Wisconsin).

-We live in NY also, and all you need to do is type a letter up that

refers to the regulations in our state law the exempts your children

from this and have it notarized. I will post a site below that details

it and has sample letters. Your bank will notarize it for free for

you. Copy it and submit the copy with their school application or

present it whenever they ask for the vaccine status. It will be on

file with your district and that's that.

How about that thye use aborted fetal cells to make vaccines.

Actually you do not have to have a " reason " nor can they legally ask

you your beleifs in regards to exemption. It is illegal for them to

question your exemption.

I request a waiver and sign the back of it. The schools and medical don't want to tell you about this BUT since I work in the school district I'm aware of it. This is still the good old USA and we still have some rights. Don't let them give you trouble about this. I make them give me the waiver everytime this comes up. Ana, Hi, I'm Sharon. My son, 16, who is add and an aspie does not get the P (pertussin) part of the vaccine anymore. When he was 2 months old he landed in the hospital about 4 or 5 days after the shot. He was very listless and they had to do a spinal tap. They thought he had spinal meningitis. Thank God he didn't. They think it may have been viral meningitis, but scary non the less. After the 4 day stint in the hospital, they said he should'nt get the pertussin part of the shot anymore; they are not sure if thats what made him ill, but just in case it was, why chance it? He has never had a problem with school about not being immunized with the pertussin (which is for whooping cough). But I often wonder if that's why he is an aspie and add today? Was it the shot? Who knows? So talk to your doctor. I'm sure there is a way you can get around this. Good luck Sharon,

Sharon, You make a good point. Shots can be a cause I truly believe this. They are now saying that active duty members who receive the Anthrax shot could be a link. My husband gets this shot every 6 months. However, here's the real kicker. I was active duty also and received those shots. I was asked if I was pregnant and I took a PT the night before and it was negative. I was probably 2-4 days pregnant and flipped out because I had an anthrax shot and was afraid at that time what will this do to my kid. You have wonder? Now my kid is mildly Autistic and we had the genetic testing done and it came out negative. So there is a reason for it and I beleive what I thought from the beginning it's the Antrhrax shot. It's not an immediate threat honestly it's not a threat at all in third world countries. I truly beleive they shouldn't be giving that shot at all especially women since they can carry a child. Of course with it being both my husband

and I we have been given everything you can imagine as far as immunizations and who knows what else. So we've decided to stop at one. We don't want another to suffer.
