Guest guest
Hi Barry, I'd be cautious about the $1.00 one - the latin name for cinnamon is Cinnamomum spp - I sell herbs for a living, and Ive never heard of that one. Should be no difference in them other than price. hugs Eunice

Guest guest
We've had this discussion before. The consensus, IIRC, was that the evidence is conflicting, but that a. It can't do any harm and b. It tastes delicious, so why not? another cinnamon question >From what i've been reading cinnamn will help lower blood glucose.. I just saw 2 versions at my local grocery store (large store NY area).. 1 bottle was priced at $1.00 and says ground cinnamon (canela molida). Guest guest
" Canela " is Spanish for cinnamon. " Molida " means 'ground' or 'milled.' Guest guest
You may want to try COSTCO (or another of the warehouse stores). After buying the $3.00 plus smalll bottle of cinnamon at my local grocery --- I found a HUGE bottle at Costco for less than $5.00 I am at work and don't have access to tell you the exact size, but it was at least 10 times the volume. in Charlotte > In a message dated 9/9/2004 10:41:21 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > Barryinbaywood@a... writes: > 1 bottle was priced at $1.00 and says ground cinnamon (canela molida). > > The second bottle was priced at $3.99 for the same size and said ground > cinnamon. > > > Hi Barry, > The $3.99 is probably a name brand while the $1.00 is store brand. Guest guest
the " recommendation " is a teaspoon a day. and some say that you can make your own capsules. There are tons of info on the net about it... I have a wonderful recipe that is cinnamon chicken... sooo good. Easy to make too, though I " spruce " it up when I make it. cube some chicken breasts (I would say 2 or 3) sprinkle with about a teaspoon to a teaspoon and a half of cinnamon, add some " Italian " spice (oregano, thyme, basil). I cook up an onion and some garlic in it too. Just " stir fry " this in as little oil as possible. I serve over quinoa (ancient grain http://www.quinoa.net/) with lots of veggies. It is a major ingredient in garam masala, curry powder, and five spice powder, so if you eat Chinese, Indian, or Thai you get a lot of it. Put a little in tomato dishes and it will do cut the acidity. > > -----Original Message----- > From: Dawson > > And how do you eat the cinnamon and how much per day?
