First, there isn't a study that I know about for LDN. I am asking my MS

doctor about getting some because of converstations in this group.

Because (1) it seems to help some people and (2) it isn't expensive.

FTY720 is a medicine that has been studied for a long time. I think the

trial I am on the waiting list to start is the 3 phase of the trials.

I'm not sure I am going to do it (I had just that day received my

diagnosis and needed time to consider my alternatives). It is more

attractive to me because it isn't a shot, and if on a study the meds

are provided, as are tests, etc. It is blind study, so I am not even

sure that I'd get " real " medication and not the placebo.

I don't want to do interferon because I have known several people with

Hepititis C that did an interferon treatment and it made them very

sick, destroyed their immune system so that they were always " flu like "

and caught every cold and flu that came along for over a year. (I know,

it isn't the 'same' interferon), it IS interferon. AND, it is

expensive. AND, when I was diagnosed, the MS doc said it isn't that

effective for PPMS any way.

...............

said " Last night I fell into the wall while oulling up my pj

bottoms. I have another nasty bruise " .

, I got in the habit of sitting or leaning while dressing. I am at

the stage now that I HAVE to have some support or I would fall over.

Even when I go to the bathroom I put the back of my right calf against

the toilet to pull down my pants and my forehead against the wall so I

can use both hands to pull them back up when I'm done. We have a stack

washer/dryer. I have to rest my elbow against the dryer so I can use

both hands to fold a piece of laundry.

...............

I asked my eye doctors office the name of the computer aided tests they

use. It is Optomap Retinal Exam. There is a picture on this page I

googled to show you: http://www.vsa2020.com/Services.asp what the

computer image looks like. The office girl said it was new about 5

years ago and was quite expensive for them to install, so she didn't

think that many doctors use it, yet. Better yet, www.optomap.com has a

couple videos.
