Hi Rich, We all do this once in awhile. You just start a new day. Did you test two hours after eating the potatoes? I eat potatoes at least once a week, sometimes more and always have normal bg readings. We have other members that eat potatoes without any problems. I can have a normal or a high bg reading at night and the next morning my fasting number is going to be in the 70/80 range so I can not use my fasting as a way of determining how a particular food affects my bg's. Hmm. I haven't had any fried potatoes with onions for a long time. I bought potatoes yesterday to make potato salad for our family party this weekend. Guess what I'm having for lunch today?? LOL hugs Eunice
Guest guest
I avoid that by not having them in the house. GAAAH! I have SINNED - big time! I was making dinner for myself and the potatoes started talking to me... then they started whining at me and before I knew it they were screaming at me... I had to chop them up and fry them with onions to get them to shut up.
Guest guest
Don't hate yourself. I honestly don't know how people go without taters. I love them. I just don't eat them all the time. A treat every once in a while. I tried to tell myself no, and to do the " low carb " thing for a while. Now I eat good carbs, and just not piles of these. Try red new taters next time. roast them in the oven with pam sprayed on them. Good stuff. Everyone is bound to have cravings, and honestly if you don't allow yourself something, I believe it causes binges. For some, just a taste isn't enough, and I respect that too. Eat a serving of tater every once in a while. Take a nice walk afterwards. Everyone makes " mistakes " look at the next meal as a fresh start. Don't punish yourself for " breaking down " You are after all, only human. Angelia in OR who has foods that scream at her too ----- Original Message ----- > I am soooo ashamed of myself...
