all the way up to when i was laying on the surgery table, they put the mask over

my mouth and I was still asking myself if I should do it.............I think

they know this, nobody said a word to me about the wonderful drugs that where

seconds away from entering my arm through the IV.........I felt a warm feeling

in my hand.........then I woke up in recovery.

I was very nervous, from what I hear almost everybody is......The doctors kept

telling me that they start to get worried when somebody is not at all nervous

about what is about to happen. I am very sorry that your husband is not behind

you, he may be threatened by the thought you getting thin and HOT! When you wake

up in recovery you will feel so much better, I had this feeling

like.........wow, that was what I was so scared of?? Take care Stacey, good

luck, you will do fine.

Surgery on Thursday

Hello, I have not posted much on this board, mosly because I have a 3

year old that no longer takes naps!

I go in tomorrow for my preop and surgery on Thursdays. I have so

many people asking me if I am excited. Well I am not. I am very

nervous. Do most feel that way. In the back of my mind, I am still

wondering if I can go through it. The main reason I am concerned if

for my 3 year old. We are together all the time and I can't imagine

going a week without seeing him. I know this will be hard on him. We

are in Germany, so far from family. I wish I had my family close by.

I think that might help. My husband is not that supportive, he just

does not get it. He is already trying to get out of bringing my son

up to see me in the hospital.

I know that I will feel better once I am awake and know that

everything has gone fine. I think I will get excited once I start

losing some weight.

THanks for listening. I will let you know how is goes.

My son was three last year when I had the surgury also. I too had concerns

about being away from Keegan due to the fact we spend alot of time together.

When I went in for surgury I was like a cat on a hot tin roof. When my nurse

walked in, she reminded me of my deceased mom of two years, I had a peace come

over me and I knew everything was going to be ok. I had surgury on Sept 13,

2005, this march I went outside and jumped on the trampoline with my son and

cried like a baby when he told me I was no longer to old to play with him. We

had the best day that day and he kept telling me how nice is was to have his

mommy play with him for the first time. I have tears right now thinking about

it. Everyone makes their choice about having this surgury for one reason or

another. It took me 2 1/2 yrs to get pregnet with Keegan, fertility drugs and

all. I was an insulin dependent diabetic. 2 weeks after surgury I was off the

insulin. It was the best choice I've made in my

life other than having my son. Now I bike ride, roller skate, slide down the

slide, and just about anything that he wants to do. I'm not embarressed or feel

like I ppl will say what is that fat lady doing dont she know she is to big to

be doing those things.

I'm not going to lie to you, this is not the easy way out and if any one tells

you it is they are lying to you. I moarn food on a daily basis. It is a life

style change not to be taken lightly. You have to follow all your doctors rules

to stay healthy. Make sure you can do everything that is required!

Good Luck to you and I hope you find your peace of mind.

Thanks so much for the kind words of encouragement. I am starting to

feel better. I have spent the day getting organized around here. I

am currently eating my last meal pre surgery (soup). I am feeling

more at ease for the moment. All I have left to do is pack. Who

knows if I will be able to sleep tonight. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for your words of encouragment. I do so want to be

healthy for my son. I am concerned that I may pop something in my

mouth off his plate out of habit. Was that a problem for you? Or

once you have the surgery are you totally aware of what you are eating?

Thanks again for the reply.

Stacey,

You are very aware of what you take in. I made the mistake of trying chinese

food to soon, it was the worst sick I have ever been. I promise it only takes

one time for you to learn your lesson.

Hi ,

Thanks for the posting your feelings! Now I know that I'm not the

only one feeling this way. The one encouraging thing for me is

almost everyone says they would do it again. I wish you all the

best and prayers to your family.

!!!

I'm so excited for you!!! You will do fine Hun!! As far as your hubby

goes try this....... try telling him I want you to bring our 3 year

old to the hospital. I NEED to see him and he needs to see me. If he

tries backing out tell him sorry this isn't up for debate. I NEED to

see our son. I'm doing this for him and for you so I can be a

healthier person, wife, & mother. Trust me when I tell you, I know

how hard it is to deal with a difficult husband. This is just my

opinion, I tend to butt in were I don't belong so I'm sorry if I

offended you!! JHang in there!!

As far as the surgery goes, I was freaked out about the surgery. I

had the runs for 2 weeks before the surgery and was throwing up a few

days before. When I am scared and freaked my body does bad bad bad

things to me!! :) I wrote letters to my husband and boys if

something did happen. But you know what nothing did. I have lost 125

lbs (I'm up 7 to 8 lbs right now) I'm healthy!!! That is what this

surgery is all about is getting healthy and getting your life back!!

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!

I hope I get to see you in a few weeks!! I will be in Munich

(spelling??) How far away are you? I wouldn't mind coming to you. My

husband will be working in during the day. Do you know if they have a

bus or a train route to your city? I would love you meet you and

your little guy (I have a 3 year old too)

If you want e-mail me luv3dbb@.... If you have any more

questions or concerns about your surgery just drop me an e-mail!!!!!

OXOXOXOX

Oh honey, good luck!!! I'm so sorry your husband isn't supportive. I can't

imagine how it must be for you to be going through this virtually alone. Your

sone will be okay, you will be okay, and once your husband sees the results down

the line, he'll realize you made this decision for all the right reasons. I

promise to keep you and your son in my thoughts. PLEASE post and tell us how you

are doing as soon as you feel up to it :) God bless, Stacey! I'll be with you in

spirit!
