Guest guest
You're sure right about this crazy weather. Here in Raleigh, NC, we broke the record for the highest temperature in January last week at 80 degrees also. Sure was fun to wear the T-shirt, shorts and no shoes for a few days. Now we are back to winter weather, with the high today around 46 or so. Have fun if you get the snow. Margaret >>> " CDC " 02/05/02 09:31PM >>> We have just seen our first snowflakes of the season here in North Mississippi. Actually, it snowed for a little while, and now it's sleeting and 40 degrees. We're hoping for some sort of accumulation tonight, but it's just not real likely at this point. By the way, last week on 1/31 it was nearly 80 degrees, and I had my air conditioner on. This weather is CRAZY!

Guest guest
Same thing here in NJ. It was high 60's most of last week and then we were hit with freezing for maybe one day. Today it is freezing but they expect warming temps again in the next couple of days. I think I should be living in Colorado as they experience this all the time. I had a friend living there and she never put winter or summer clothes away for a season. One day in the morning she would have snow and that afternoon they would be swinning in the lake. I did not think I could enjoy this on a steady basis so I hope I won't have to now. Guest guest
Aliceanne, I used to live in Colorado, so I sure know exactly what you mean. The weather here has been similar, but not quite as dramatic. I do remember having 70s one day and a foot of snow the next. I really used to enjoy the fact that it could get so warm in the winter and give us a break. We have also had some great winds recently, which also reminded me of Colorado. I lived right next to the foothills in Fort , where the wind would just come whipping off the mountains and out over the plains. It used to make me really nervous when the wind was gusting up to 65 miles per hour. I still don't like it when it gets real windy like that, but recently I bought some wind chimes so at least I have nice music to listen to. Guest guest
I think the last time I saw snow--that stayed on the ground-- was about 1972! Guest guest
Really!. I am surprised as I thought last year there was a news item about you actually getting snow. May have been an illusion. Guest guest
Well, it didn't work out for us this time. We only got rain ... and it's still raining now. We are located in an area that usually follows a line dividing the rain from the snow. However, I have a sister a county over that almost always gets snow. In fact, their schools are closed today, but ours aren't. And I love cold temps and snow but rarely get it. I swear I'm a northerner at heart. Someday I'm moving to Canada! ... Well, maybe. Guest guest
It has been really CRAZY weather this winter. I live in Minnesota, a state known for its frigid temps and lots and lots of snow. Not so the case this winter. My hubby and I are avid snowmobilers and our sleds have been sitting in the yard all winter, on grass. We did get a pretty good storm in late December but that didn't last long, the next stretch of weather was in the 60s. I think I am actually going to have to put my hubby on antidepressants. LOL It is really driving him crazy that he can't ride his sled. <G> -- Re: SNOW!!!! Really!. I am surprised as I thought last year there was a news item about you actually getting snow. We had the opportunity to build 1 snowman and 1 snowbaby (my 3-year-old daughter's idea). The next day it was 65 degrees here in PA and my daughter cried as her baby melted. That's been it for the winter fun. (Their idea of fun, not mine.) As for me, my " seasonal affective disorder " has been non-existant. I love warm weather and sunshine. If it snows now, I'll be the one crying. Come on, summer! Chris
