A question for all those with a Dr. like mine

Hi all, It has been a while since I last posted (I don't think my last post went through from a couple of weeks ago). Anyway, here is a shortened version of what I have been going through since December 1st and then my question. On 12/1 I woke up with my left leg swollen and numb. I could barely walk on it and it hurt to bend down (not a great thing when you have a 15 month old and a soon to be 5 yr. old). I called my Dr. and they saw me right away. She took a ton of blood and everything came back normal/negative except my Sed. rate which was 38 (it should be no higher than 24). She told me to take ibuprofen, use heat and rest. A week later and the left leg is no longer swollen but the right leg is and it hurts worse than the left did. I went back. Again the Sed. rate is the only thing that came back abnormal (this timne it was 48). Fast forward to this week and I am in intense pain. I have difficulty

going up and down the stairs, picking up my kids and doing just about everything I have to do each day. I have been out of work for 4 weeks now. Yesterday I went back to my Dr. for a check-up because I am feeling worse than I did even last week. I asked her about the possibility of this being Fibro and she said "you had that several years ago and this would be an awful flare." Today she called to tell me that my sed. rate is down to 32. I think that she is so focused on the inflammation that she is not getting the fact that I am in intense pain all the time and that the new med. she put me on is not helping. She wants to see me next week and then send me back to work. For those of you who have had Dr.'s that did not understand anything about Fibro or listen to what you were telling them, how did you handle it? I am so wrapped up in making sure that my son gets the services he needs (he is special needs) and that my daughter gets adjusted to her new life (she just came home

from China in September) that I am not able to "advocate" effectively for myself. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Debi
