I don't have much of a problem with depression, but the fatigue is

horrible! I fall asleep every afternoon(around 2:00)while I'm trying

to read.If I don't take a nap, I doze off after dinner while watching

TV.The fatigue is worse now than ever, but I'm at the peak of a

flare.Hopefully, both will be easing soon. Good luck and God bless.

's medications have changed him. He takes naps almost every day at

school. I took in that cheap fold up tent I found at Wal-Mart for $10 so he

could rest more peacefully. He sleeps at least an hour.

Hi Nina,

I've read similar things, but I guess it shouldn't be all that surprising

because very little is " natural " about life in 2005, especially if you live in a

fast-paced, crowded, polluted city.

I feel so much better when I nap, so when I'm working I leave naps for the

weekends.

Take care,

Judy

Babel. 2-3 hours in the afternoon and 5-6 hours at night are good.

I love napping. I consider myself very fortunate to get in one afternoon nap

per week. When I do, I feel so much more human.

I too like my siestas and have missed them since my g'daughter has been

keeping me company the past three weeks. School starts Wednesday so can get

back to my siestas. However I don't crave them nearly as much now that I'm

not eating the bad carbs. When I was first diagnosed 14 years ago I had

uncontrollable sleepy spells where no matter how important/interesting a

thing I was doing all I could think to do was lie down on the floor and go

to sleep!! Sure glad that has passed.

Hello everyone,

I hope all of you are well and flare free (I'm not). I wanted to see how many

of you take naps during the day. I have had RA for 8 years, fibromyalgia for 6.

I was taking provigil to help combat the fatigue and it worked wonders, but I

have to pay out of pocket for it and I haven't been able to afford it for the

past few months.

My husband gets upset with me when I take naps during the day, espeically when I

I don't do anything that day. (He doesn't mind when I do something and come home

tired and take a short nap). He gets angry with me when I get up, have

breakfast, stay up for about an hour or 2 and go back to bed. He used to be

really understanding, but when I got approved for SSDI and I don't " work " , then

I shouldn't have a reason to be so tired espeically since I get about 10-12 hrs

of sleep a night.

He has been out of town the past few weeks and I have been taking advantage of

sleeping when I need too and when I want too. I was wondering if any of you

take naps and take naps on days you don't do anything. I don't know what to do

when he comes back. Thanks

, I'm retired and can sleep as late as I want to, unless I have

an appointment or something. I usually don't get up till 10 or 10:30;

therefore, I don't need a nap during the day.

, if you need a nap around 2, then by all means take it. Your

husband cannot really know how you feel. After I get up at 10 or

10:30, I'm usually good until 12:30 or 1:00 that night. I do pace

myself and do housework and yard work as I feel like it, stopping when

I get too tired.

I'm on Enbrel, and it's such a good medication for me. Besides keeping

the pain and inflammation away, I guess it keeps me less fatigued. I'm

really thankful that it keeps on working so well, and I'm keeping my

fingers crossed that it will continue to do so.

I wish for you the same good luck. In the meantime, get the rest you

need. And cheers for doing the yoga.
