Guest guest
Hello everyone; I am wondering if anyone has found a good anti-inflammatory med that really works? My hands are so stiff and painful along with my hips and knees. My doc has me on Daypro and it isn't working. He is always willing to let me try what I want but I can't think any that might be newer and work better. Thanks and God Bless for your hrlp Mahala Ann
Guest guest
Hi Ann -- Have you tried Nabumetone (generic for Relafen)? My doc had me 1-2 750 mg tabs per day as needed. I stopped taking them a while ago and don't notice much difference, but it might be worth a shot if haven't tried it already. Best wishes, Fred / Oregon
Guest guest
Hi, From what I read anti inflammatories don't do much for fibro. I have tried them...(over the counter meds)...to no avail. Funny you should mention your hands and hips. My hip...especailly my left hip is so bad today that I find it hard to believe fibro could do this. Both my buttock muscles (actaully almost the whole check) feels like they are severely bruised. After I limber up taking my dog for a walk they don't feel bad. Then when I sit down after the walk (even for as little as 10 minutes) and I get up I find myself in excrusiating PAIN!! I mean... I can barely walk at all. Then as I pace around the kitchen it limbers up again for me. Now at the same time... If I do nothing at all but total rest and message my legs..calves and buttocks in a hot tub it almost feels like it is gone. Do you have a backache along with the hip? I am sorry you feel badly (gold_morning) > > Hello everyone; > > I am wondering if anyone has found a good anti-inflammatory med > that really works? Guest guest
Hi, Mahala. My doctor prescribed Diclofenac. He said it would help the arthritis in my knee and my general pain. I didn't really think it was helping until I went without it for a few days, then I noticed a difference. The pain was greater without it. The pain is not 100% gone, but my knee feels much better. Hope this info helps. mahalaclubb wrote: Hello everyone; I am wondering if anyone has found a good anti-inflammatory med that really works? Guest guest
Hi Ann! In my long history of having fibro I have taken several different anti-inflams (NSAID). Since I have gastritis I have to be careful what I take. Relafen worked good for me until my stomach couldn't tolerate it. Vioxx was helping until my insurance changed. Just as well since it's off the market. Celebrex is similar that others take. I can't because I am allergic to sulf. Currently I take Lodine. Other that chronic shoulder pain, my join pain is usually minimal but can occasionally be bad with a flare. Ask your doctor for samples of one of these to see if it helps. hugs and prayers, Debbie J > > Hello everyone; > > I am wondering if anyone has found a good anti-inflammatory med > that really works? Guest guest
Hi, Ann... Another anti-inflammatory med is.... Mobic.... When Celebrex doesn't seem to be working as best for me, I switch back to Mobic. 'Hope this bit of information can help.... Take care with hugs to ALL,
