These may incluse sweeteners, dyes and the like. While working extensively with the mentally ill we did note that some fillers cause adverse reactions (allergic reactions, seizures, etc...). I don't mind either way - my copay is $5 regardless. I'm assuming the generic will work just as well and so I took it. Should I be concerned about anything? Should I question my pharmacist? Hi Jacki, I take the generic when available (even my chemo drugs were generic) and I've not had any problems. If my doctor and my pharmacist tell me it is okay, I don't have any problems. I know this is not true with all people, but I trust my doctor and pharmacist completely. I'm on 2 meds now and neither one of them is generic (generic not available) so I'm having to pay more for these prescriptions. I thought I was going to come off one of them in Aug when I have another bone density test, but that is not the case. With the new med I'm taking, I need the Actonel.
