Guest guest
If my FMS started when I had my stomach and bowel trouble when I was 6, then yes I suffered severe weight gain for about the next 10 years. Every year of school I gained between 10 and 20 pounds. The only time I have ever really lost the weight (70 pounds) was during 3 years of spinal surgeries. What's sad is that I consider 22's my skinny jeans. LOL. Right now I'm slowly coming back down again but it's because of appetite issues and barely eating, which I know is not healthy. I also have PCOS which causes weight gain and an inability to lose it. So, I feel as though I'm pretty much screwed. LOL. Guest guest
I have fought weight since I was 10 years old. Not sure if it was the fibro or not, but suspect that it was. I have gained and lost so much weight since then, even had gastric bypass, with which I managed to keep my weight off for 7 years (with a struggle) but it all came back again. I am now thinking maybe the fibro contributed to this. I don't seem to be able to loose, unless I eat almost nothing. But I am maintaining now, which I wasn' t able to do for years, (even tho it is a high weight) at least I am not gaining anymore. > > > > I was wondering if any of you have experienced an > extreme > > weight gain since fibro attacked you. Guest guest
I haven't experienced any extreme weight gain... I have been fat all my life. However, I have noticed that it is EXTREMELY difficult for me to lose any weight since the fibromyalgia has become full blown. I have tried many different diets, walking, etc and still can not lose any of the weight. My goal for the new year is to start using a rebounder daily and to do Pilates' in the hopes of at least toning up. Guest guest
I am at my heaviest right now. I'm 5 foot 6 1/2 inches tall and weighed 114 pounds from age 15 - 38. Now, since getting diabetes and FM, I've hit 190! This isn't me!! I hate myself for not being able to lose this fat. The doctor told me not to worry since I was " healthy " . Bull! The next time he saw me, he said I needed to lose 40 pounds. Hello..... If anyone knows how to shed this other than starvation, let me know! irish
Guest guest
My orthopedic surgeon told my mom and not me that I need to lose 100 pounds. The whole time I was thinking, well you just figure out how to do it and maybe I will be game. My thinking about food is so messed up though. Ever since childhood. I got into trouble no matter what I ate, healthy or junk. I did notice that the only time I felt really good was when I wasn't eating much at all, or was eating bags of chocolate. LOL. I got myself into a rhythm a couple of years ago. I was eating like 3 squares of chocolate before going to bed and noticed that whole week that I was losing weight. I tried that for about a month and ate normal during the day still found that I woke up skinnier. But now I'm off chocolate and can't try it again. Chocolate has caffeine, which is bad for my cysts. Like walking. Walking to lose weight to make my back and FMS feel better, and this morning my back hurt like a son of a gun afterwards. I went from treadmill to shower and by the time I got out of the shower, I couldn't bend over to dry off my feet. I hate that. I hoping that everything goes away though the longer I keep it up. Tonight, I'm using the toning bar while watching my NBC Thursday night line up. LOL. Pray I can get out of bed in the morning so I can make it to my new allergist. LOL. New Mantra for me to repeat in the mornings: HAUL YOUR PILLSBURY DOUGH BUTT OUT OF BED. HAUL YOUR PILLSBURY DOUGH BUTT OUT OF BED. HAUL YOUR PILLSBURY DOUGH BUTT OUT OF BED.
