Guest guest
Hello everybody, I have been using Zinc Oxide every night and taking antihistamines during the day. Both seem to help me a lot. I have been taking both for two to three weeks now. Since I have Seborrheic Dermatitis I was concerned about using the Zinc Oxide, I thought it might be too oily. After a couple of days I noticed that my skin did not seem as flaky and of course the redness has gone down. The other thing I have noticed is the reduction of size/redness of my spider veins. I have a couple of very small veins on my face which others probably can't see, but I have one cluster on my face which is more noticeable. Since I have been using the Zinc the redness has gone down and more recently I have noticed that the veins do not seem to be as distinct- my little cluster just looks like a slightly pink patch of skin. Has anyone else noticed this? My naturopath told me that Zinc has healing properties and it is harmless. I'm still not sure how Zinc Oxide works, so if anyone has more information on it please let me know. About the antihistamines- it has also helped me a lot. I don flush quite as much and my overall redness has decreased. My naturopath thinks this points directly to food allergies. I'm a little more skeptical, since I think rosacea definitely has some vascular properties that can't accounted for- like flushing while eating soup or other hot foods. But it's worth a try and it would make a lot of sense since I had a lot of allergies as a child. Has anyone else been tested for food sensitivity? Sorry to leave such a long message. Margaret H.
