Guest guest
Debbie, Mine has done that and because it tends to do it more often than any of my doctors would like I now walk with a cane to keep me steady. That way I don't fall and hurt myself, have you spoke to your doctor about this? Have them do an MRI to check the joint because an xray doesn't show everything but MRI and CT scans can. deebs87 wrote: Hi all, Does anyone ever have your knees buckle? My left one does every few weeks. Usually it's very lightly but today it was deeper. I am afraid it my mess up my joint. I told my rheum about it earlier this year. The plain xrays he ordered were normal. Since my right hip/butt is still sore I do favor my left side. I am trying to walk normal again but still slower. thanks, Debbie J Vicki/Lady Vader www.freewebs.com/romanticdreamscometrue www.freewebs.com/victoriadutton --------------------------------- Get your email and more, right on the new Yahoo.com
Guest guest
Hi Debbie I've had my knees buckle or give out often. As a matter of fact I was just telling my hubby that I am getting a little nervous and paranoid that they will give out and down I'll come. Setting a fear of falling ....so far have always been stopped from hitting the ground by something...walls ..chairs....people and so on. Don't know if it's the FM though. I wonder how many others have this problem. deebs87 wrote: Hi all, Does anyone ever have your knees buckle? My left one does every few weeks. Usually it's very lightly but today it was deeper. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. 3. To unsubscribe the e-mail is: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group-unsubscribe 4. Also, it is not uncommon for more than one member to be feeling bad at the same time when it comes to flares and b/c of that potentially take something another member says the wrong way. And that includes the things that one member may find funny (even if it's laughing at fibro itself) even though we who deal with illness whether one such as fibro or multiple illnesses try to keep a sense of humor. 5. Pls let's be gentle with each other, and if you are having a bad day pls let us know so that we can do our best to offer our support. Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
Hi Vicki, Thanks for answering. If my knee starts buckling more frequent then I will ask my rheum for a MRI. So far I don't have any joint swelling or redness. It does hurt, too if I keep my knee bent. hugs, Debbie J > > Debbie, > > Mine has done that and because it tends to do it more often than any of my doctors would like I now walk with a cane to keep me steady. Guest guest
My left knee buckles often. This has happened for a long time. I do fall sometimes, problem being that I can't get myself up.Most of the time tho, I am able to catch myself with something, but if there is nothing there, I just go down. Luckily my hubby has been around to pick me up, and believe me it is no easy task. He seems to do it pretty easily tho. 9 He helps with the local ambulance service so he does know how to do it) But I feel bad that he has to do it, as I am pretty large. I have had two knee replacements, and had blamed it on that, but now I don't know. Maybe it is the fibro. I Have a cane but don't use it much. I am wanting to get one with the four legs. The one I have just doesn't help a lot. I really don't like to use one, but I doubt anyone does. I keep finding things that I have had problems with for sometime, could be the fibro. I had always blamed a lot on arthritis. Well, I had reconstruction surgery on my left knee a yr ago, and it didn't help. It still buckles. Now I guess that it must be the fibro. ****Gentle Hugs to all**** Peggyb ________________________________________________________________________ Check Out the new free AIM® Mail -- 2 GB of storage and industry-leading spam and email virus protection. Guest guest
, Debbie, I have those same symptoms, and was diagnosed with hypermobility. Check out this site: www.hypermobility.org Kat > Does anyone ever have your knees buckle? My left one does every few weeks. Usually it's very lightly but today it was deeper. Guest guest
Oh wow! That's it! I was told 7+ years ago that I had hypermobility in my hips and knees but I had totally forgotten about that. That's what keeps happening to my knee. Then, like now, I go through months trying to get it back to a " Normal " state, so to speak. It hasn't been normal for many years now. I never associated one with the other. My knee doesn't 'buckle' too often but it does often feel like it goes backwards. That's the best way I can describe it. But can anything be done for it? ~Jennie
Guest guest
Jennie, Best online source is in the UK: http://www.hypermobility.org/index.php What helped me the most was a heel lift - my symptoms were made worst because one leg was 1/4 inch longer than the other. You can ask your Ortho or a physical therapist to measure your leg length. Hope this helps. Kat > > Oh wow! That's it! Guest guest
I was given a lift for my shoe years ago. I stopped using it not quite two years ago. Now I can't remember which foot to use it in! Yikes!! LOL Thanks ~Jennie
