OT: Ula -- HSG/iodine question (pg ment)

First, congratulations! I hope things are going well for you. I've

been catching up on posts, and when I saw you were pg, looked for the

post in which you announced it. What caught my attention was " SHG " --

what is that and what does it have to do with the iodine? I ask

because I had a terrible time for about 3 months after the HSG. I

had symptoms similar to lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, very painful

and debilitating. No docs could give me a diagnosis, but a an

alternative medical doctor (chiropractor) said it was an allergic

reaction to the iodine. Both my OB and the radiologist who did the

test (as well as the few others I saw trying to get a diagnosis) said

there was no way this could be related to the HSG. I looked up the

chemicals used in my HSG and a very small percentage remains in the

body for an unspecified amount of time. The symptoms began within

days of the HSG and gradually diminished after about 3 months. I am

convinced it was related to the iodine. Any info you could share

about HSGs and " SHG " would be appreciated!
