Guest guest
When I was first diagnois as a diabetes, my endroc. doctor gave me an ad about Liberty Medical Did not use them at first, but my local eckerd drug store. I did some checking and found out it is cheaper. I get a three month supply for the cost of a month and they call me in two weeks befor time to reorder. It take two days to get everything I need. I am very happy with them. The fill out all paper work for my insurnce. Having diabetes is tough enough but at least Liberty Medical make it easier. I have not checked any other mail order company. Right now I am very happy with them. My first month I had to pay $175.00 out of my pocket and now I pay 54.00 every 3 months.
Guest guest
I get my strips from a company similar to Liberty Medical (mine is a local company called DiabetesPlus). When I first tried to get strips from the pharmacy, they told me that they weren't covered by my insurance so I had to pay full price. In the diabetes education classes, they mentioned Liberty Medical and DiabetesPlus as better places to get strips. I filled out a form and the strips are delivered to my home once a month. My cost is about $7.50 for a box of 100 strips. I'm not sure why the strips are covered through these companies and not the pharmacy - but it has saved me lots of money! Guest guest
I don't know about " cheaper " but I used to get my supplies from them. I'm T2 and on insulin (and also on Medicare and have a private insurance). I quit them and went with another home delivery company. There's lots of them BTW. The reason I quit was because I had an Accucheck Advantage and Liberty sent me a whole shipment of the regular test strips. I called them and complained and they told me that they were no longer handling the Comfort Curve test strips because they were too expensive. When I told my doctor's nurse, (who is also the diabetes educator) she said " No problem! I'll just get another company to service you! " LOL She did...and I did....and everybody is happy except Liberty Medical....and they make so much money I'm certain they don't give a flip. LOL Tootie The Terrible > Hi, does anybody get their diabetes prescriptions from liberty medical?I > was wondering if they are any cheaper then my pharmacy which is kroger.I > know,ur supposed to fill out their " form " to find out but thought this > would be faster as theyre closed today....thanks. Guest guest
Hi. I ordered once from Liberty and will never order from them again. My insurance was paying major medical at 100% at the time I ordered and I still ended up paying $117.00 for 3 months of supplies since their prices were so high. My local pharmacy costs would have been covered 100%, since their prices were reasonable. I would demand a price list from them first and compare their prices with what you would pay locally and what your insurance will cover. I order from them and my 20% is always $30.11. How weird. I would definitely check into it and see what is going on. Shirley from TN

Guest guest
Hi, My insurance only pays reasonable and customary. The local pharmacies don't have a problem with accepting reasonable and customary. Since Liberty didn't have a signed agreement with my insurance company to accept what the insurance company considered reasonable and customary; I paid the deductible, the difference between Liberty's price and reasonable and customary, and the deductible; instead of just paying the deductible. Liberty was evasive about their prices up front and whether or not I would just pay my deductible, and that should have also been a warning. I compared Liberty's price after the fact and they were quite a bit higher than what the local pharmacies charged. I now buy all of my supplies locally and I save money doing it that way.
