Guest guest
and group: I agree that it would be good to identify some foods that would help control cea. We've all spent a lot of time identifying foods to avoid. Again, however, our individual differences and unique reactions will need to be considered. What may be helpful for some, may be another's " trigger " . Here are two suggestions that I am trying: GARLIC and FLAX SEED OIL. GARLIC is known to be a natural antibiotic. There are many capsules on the market today that avoid the odor problem. Although it's definitely more fun (tasty) to get it from your food! FLAX SEED OIL is know to be an anti-inflammatory and one of the essential oils needed by the body. This is taken internally, not applied to the skin. You should buy flax seed oil only from health food stores that keep it in a refrigerated section and then you need to keep it refrigerated as well to keep it from going rancid. Makes it kind of awkward when you travel, although I suspect it would take a while for it to turn. Since I've started using the flax seed oil I've noticed a definite decrease in redness. However, I am still on an antibiotic, so I don't know if I can attribute the improvement to the flax seed oil or not, except to say, I had been on the antibiotic for 2 months before adding the flax seed oil; and did not such a dramatic difference until I started taking the oil. Well, I'm going to add a third suggestion--WATER. Since I've greatly increased my water intake (as many have recommended) I have noticed that my eyes are less irritated and my skin less oily. I'm up to more than 12 - 8oz glasses a day! I just purchased two books I'm hoping will give further insights along this line--Prescriptions for Natural Healing (Kerry's fav) and Optimum Wellness.
