I get leg cramps, toe cramps, knee cramps, neck cramps, side cramps. Sounds

funny but NOT. I take calcium with vit D and tums, and wouldn't ya know my

calcium is still low. Has been on & off for several years now. So I have

doubled up. See what happens.

I was just going to say the same thing Denice - cramps usually mean you have

a potassium deficiency. My doctor told me long ago to eat a banana each day

and it will stop - and IT DID!!!!!! Good Luck - I know how annoying and

painful those cramps are!

thanks for the advice. I just had a ton of lab work done for pre-op

t3, t4, tsh, all within normal limits. Is there another test for

parathyroid?

Re: Leg Cramps

a, your parathyroid has something to do with regulating your ability to

absorb calcium, so...if you continue to have trouble get it checked.

a,

I must admit I don't know...(and just think I used to think I KNEW

EVERYTHING!!!) My doctor mentioned the parathyroid, but I didn't ask

questions about it. I imagine that if your pre-op blood work is ok, then you

shouldn't be alarmed eat your banana, and hang in there.

At 6 am this morning I thought of you. I woke up screaming with the

worst leg cramp I ever had. I don't get 'em, have had maybe 3 in my life, so

I think that this was a sympathy pain or you. My calf is still sore, and

hard as a rock. Go figure.

Take care, a and have a terrific weekend. W
