YES! It sure can affect blood sugars, and stress does as well!

Glad you are getting testing, Mandy. If your test comes back normal for

thyroid tho, you can ask for further tests if you feel that it is in error.

I think one is a reverse t-3 testing. some people have trouble with their

t-4 and t-3 and I think the 'regular test' just tests one of them.

I hope they find out what is up for you.

Blessings and hang in there.

Hi Mandy,

Definitely. I have taken thyroid medication for 30 years, and the last time

it was adjusted (up) was 15 years ago. Since being diagnozed with diabetes

t.2, my medication has been reduced and will likely be reduced again.

Insulin -IS- a hormone.

Insulin is a hormone, so the answer is yes. The endocrine system--of which the

Islets of Langerhans are a part--is very interactive; mess with one part, and it

will throw the rest out of whack. It is not uncommon for diabetics to have

thyroid problems, and vice versa. Many ob/gyns, even when HRT was fashionable,

were reluctant to give it to diabetic ladies for that reason.

Can hormones affect our bloodsugars? What about thyroid? I am having

my A1C checked tomorrow and another test for thyroid.
