They can give you measurements and take pictures for you to take to your doctor on 11/23. You're right that is a long time away especially at your daughter's age. Maybe they can put you on a cancelation list.Good luck and welcome to the group! Time is of the essence so you may want to go see the people at Cranial Technologies in Paramus NJ. www.cranialtech.com for a free consult. They will band up to 20 months, but you will want to get things going as quick as possible and you will have insurance to get through. You can still keep your appointment with the specialist if need be, but CT will be able to tell you if you should have concerns that would warrant further diagnosis. Cranial Tech (there is one in Paramus) will keep a band on a child up until 24 mos of age. Time is of the essence though, as they younger they are the faster and BETTER correction they'll receive. If your ped is in agreement, I'd just ask her to write you a script for a DOCband. At Camille's age I'd definitely go there b/c they treat older children. Do you have any idea of her severity? I'd definitely ask your ped for a script to save you the time the specialist visit will take and in the meantime call CT and get a free consult. They'll give you an idea of her severity too. If I would have known what I new now, I would have just got a perscription from my son's pediatrician. I am in Los Angeles but I know that there is a Cranial Technologies in New Jersey (201-265-3993). Maybe they can give you the name of a dr. who can see Camille sooner. I am also wondering how well the Docband will work for my son who is almost ten months. I would look at all the photos available. I have seen some great after photos of older children. I just filled out a rec for pharmacas for one student and have one more to go and deadline is this coming Tuesday. How was the interview process? Glad to know you are going to be one of the pharmacists who came up through the ranks and will 'know' how to tread and advocate pharmacy technicians! We need more of you! Clone you! Try my quizzes. Hopefully more people will post their questions soon. 'Studiers' for ptcb exam usually wait until the last minute to post what they have been studying and do not understand. I have no clue why, although my instructions are to study and research topics before they ask questions so that the answers we give will make better sense because they will recall technial words that they had come across during their study. You both need to go to the foreign student pharmacist study group see my link section and also www.studentpharmacist.com that another member gave us last week. Take your conversations about pharm school behind the scenes. And then give me all the real skimmed down suggestions and I will make a tutorial for other pharm school candidates for schools, books, tests, pharmacas etc, so that this site can give them the same info that you have and lead them to sites that you think will help. There are such sites just for this purpose. We went to Childrens Hospital and saw a Dr. Davinder Singh, she was wonderful. We saw her at the Voorhees office, but I think she works more at the PA hospital. Also you can check out Cranial Tech, they have an office in Paramus. They will do a free consultation for you. If he or she is concerned, they could write you a script and a letter of necessity and you can make an appt. with Cranial tech for an evaluation and possible casting and get it all done in one day and then your good to go. I just thought that if a stranger commented on it, you can tell your dr. your concerns. Waiting till November 23rd to see the neuro and then if they think she needs a band/helmet you have to wait to get her in for an appt. and then waiting for the band/helmet, time is important here if you want good correction. I would either call Cranial Tech or call Childrens and try to get in sooner. Waiting till November 23rd to see the neuro and then if they think she needs a band/helmet you have to wait to get her in for an appt. and then waiting for the band/helmet, time is important here if you want good correction. I would either call Cranial Tech or call Childrens and try to get in sooner. We love our Alyssa and feel as if she has been with us forever! She has been such a joy. Alyssa was 10 1/2 mths on gotcha day and she was banded on Oct 6 at 14 mths old. From the time the pediatrician referred us to a specialist until the banding took two months. It took us a month to see a neurosurgeon and then another month for insurance and casting. Alyssa's head is the same way - very flat in the back of the right side of her head (when you are facing her), although with her the flatness is not noticeable unless her head is wet or you know what to look for. I had some concern with her neck muscles since she tends to cock her to one side when she drinks but our orthotist checked it out and said she's fine. The orthotist has given us an estimate of three to four months but has also qualified with each child is different. Hope everything goes smoothly for Camille. Although we've only been in the band for three weeks, we can already see some changes in Alyssa's head shape. Her head is definitely starting to round out in back. It was like he didn't have any capacity to learn anything. He's Low functioning but now he is actually capable of learning - it's probably his single biggest step. We've been chelating since April and supplementing since last February. He's nowhere near cured, nowhere near at all. But he's doing SO much better - it's brilliant.
