Guest guest
First, I am in pain 24/7-some days are better than others, but most days I can tolerate with my meds, however, exercise was always a problem. My knees are bad, I have a hip spur on the same side that my FM attacks, and OA in same hip. Walking-although THE best exercise as it is the only one that forces your body to make new blood connections in your legs have always been painful. You have no idea(oops forgot the group I am talking to) how bad the heel to toe walking can be. After trying treadmills, the Tony little gazelle(this machine hurts your shins like H***!!! I finally found one that absolutely does not hurt any body parts LOL and you can exercise your heart up to your zone. This is expecially important to me as I have a heart condition and I need this exercise. I can just see me try that with normal routine of attempting to run when I can barely walk. Anyway, I am on my second one as my continual exercise wore out my last one. It is Called the Life Gear walker. What makes this one so different is that it puts your feet into the proper position for walking where you swing gently from the hips, and your foot goes up, not out. It is the only machine I can use to get the walking benefits. I got mine from HSN.com, I am sure that is not the only place they sell them. I am determined to get my strength back, even if I have to stick medication in my mouth before I work out. Some days, if I am really bad, I will take a hot shower first after some muscle relaxants to make sure the muscles are at ease, well as much as they can be with FM. It is a much better routine when I do that. I hope this helps those of you who want to stay active and limber...or those of us who are trying their best not to give up their ability to be mobile. I work through the pain at times, but I feel more like I am alive, than existing. Have a good day-be at peace Kathleen __________________________________________________
